That was really good, (says I, Drabble-Hater Extraordinaire!). I especially loved I and II... I don´t have words to highlight the sheer *originality* of your dragon interaction!
There´s also a great point in variety - I love how the superposition (does that woord exist?) of different characters and periods gives some sort of feeling of complexity, like a world with many facets.

I came to this story nosing about for the MEFA, but this is the chapter that really caught my interest. I had never considered the extent of king/leader deaths that took place in this short era.
I also like the narritive - nice command of detail that keeps things moving forward. I'll think I'll keep poking around in your stories. They make for great reading.
