What a sweet and tender glimpse of the brothers. I don't think either of them were so far gone at the end that they couldn't still recall their once-wonderful times together. Thanks also for the references in your note - at least one of those is already on my "must read" list!

Denise--thank you so for your review. I am really glad you liked the ficlet. It was caught in my head and couldn't get rid of it. I think it is fascinating to wonder what they would have been like with Elrond and Elros after being the two oldest in such a large and unusual family. I am absolutely certain they would have been good with kids. And shamelessly admit that Dawn Felagund picture of their early family life really captivated and influenced me.
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

This was so sad but touching. I admit that I am a total sucker for Elrond and Elros with Maglor and Maedhros stories. It was bittersweet to see that Maglor and Maedhros missing their own little brothers - the combination of guilt and love is heart-rending. I am also impressed by how much emotion and detail you were able to bring across with so few words.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Dawn. I was so hoping you would like it (nervous that you wouldn't) since I credited you for inspiration.
