That was lovely, Raksha! I was completely taken in during Part I, thinking that it was Faramir right up until you said it was really Denethor, and felt very sad that history had repeated itself from Ecthelion to his grandson. An interesting supposition, that Gandalf had tried to reassure both as to their father's love - you made me think on how Denethor disbelieving this could play into his exchange with Gandalf during the pyre scene...

Needless to say, absolutely loved Part II - Faramir's offering and his hope for the future were beautifully portrayed, and how having his own child helped him to understand his father better. Very nice!
