Oooh, I simply loved this one. Great choice of style - those one-sentence utterings really feel like the whispers of a ghost. It sent shivers down my spine. Loved the imagery - very, very dark; but very, very captivating. A very haunting piece of prose.

Juno, this is simply one of the most powerful pieces of Middle Earth fanfic that I have ever read. I am a cat lover, too. In fact, I have a black cat who is my best friend. The fate that you gave Beruthiel and her feline companions made me cringe and cry. I love the ending, too, with its echoes of the fate of Earendil.

I love this! It is so counter to what you present in the beginning. I am not sure if this would actually have happened; we tend to think of Tolkien's world as morally simplistic, yet, not everyone could be upright and moral. It is a wonderful venture into "what if...".
Thank you for sharing.
