I am particularly impressed with your thorough reading of the Silmarillion...not an 'easy' read. Your drabbles are imaginative little rays of illumination. (Aha - it could have been exactly thus.)

I really enjoyed these, Soledad! All of them are wonderful, with some unique perspectives and every drabble clearly portrayed, no matter how few words are dedicated to it. I think my two favorites so far are:
"The End of Starlight" - I've always felt that the Avari got short shrift. And the line about the Valar never asking anyone if they wanted the Valar's "blessings" - too true! Great perspective.
"Caught in the Light" - As a mother, I too have always been startled by Elwing's abandonment of her children. Yet most treat it as a selfless and heroic deed. This was a reasonable explanation for why she did what she did.
Please add more flickers soon!
