B2MeM Challenge: Day 2, 072: Forth Eorlingas!: The ride of the rohirrim; Games people play: drinking
Characters: Éomer, Éothain, OC
Summary: If we should die, let it be like this...
He was checking Snowmane's tack yet again when he saw Éothain and Léof approach. A slow smile broke through his frown.
"You did not think we'd forget, did you?" Éothain asked as he passed the mugs. "This is ritual. Tradition!"
One last drink, Éomer thought as he remembered the first time they had gathered like this, the night before their first skirmish. They would be in Mundburg when the Sun rose tomorrow.
"To freedom," Léof said.
"To swords and spears!" cried Éothain.
These men had bled with him.
"To brothers," he spoke his blessing, then drained the cup.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15: 13, The New Testament)
