Imhiriel asked for the symbolism of the White Tree, any perspective.

~~~
'Twas a sign, men said, a symbol, History itself—a new leaf turned for the old tale of the Trees, and of the Kings of Men who also had emerged from a deep winter. 'Twas the promise of peace, of restoration—recompense for long suffering.
But for itself? Life and death only the tree knew, and that its roots had been doomed to choke on stone one day but that one had seen the White Tree. Yavanna's creatures ask little, but give much in gratitude: it spread its branches high for the life of all dreamers by whom it lived.
