I liked this - original, pointed descriptions brought me into the scene clearly with the narrator's eyes and mood; immersion was immediate. Other aspects were, unfortunately a little vague: I wasn't sure if the narrator with is war-like imagery was Faramir or Eomer, and what 'battle' exactly they were preparing for. The piece seemed both melancholy and hopeful but wasn't sure which was foremost.
This is somewhat a fault of the link: I had to backtrack to the summary.
