I really enjoyed reading a bit more about this scene. It's one of my favourite scenes in the first book, and it is much too short in Tolkien's version.
What got me wondering was if Sam would really talk so freely about his master's secret. But apart from that you caught the atmosphere just fine!
(And I noticed only two or three typos - evil things, where do they always come from?)
