Very nice to see this come back after a long absence. You're doing an excellent job showing Frodo's character through the commentaries, but I can't help but be interested in Ruvimir's and Miriel's reaction to the Shire, and in other's reaction to them. I liked the Thain's comments about being more interested in the outside world due to the visitors. An interesting point, which may need to be drawn out.

Thanks for writing this enjoyable story.

This was a very satisfying read. I loved the way Frodo's character came to life through the eyes of all he came in touch with. Aragorn hiding in his strider persona was another nice touch. Ruvemir is a very original character. He and his family made this fun to read.

I love your stories! This one has a couple of errors, that I hope will be easy to fix. Chapter 53 (South and West) is a duplicate of chapter 52 (Morning After).
Chapters 56 and 57 are identical (Placing an Apprentice), both in the index and in the text. I can't wait to read the correct chapters. Thank you so much for sharing your writing talents!

A thoroughly entertaining read. Well thought through by the author, it takes liberties well in line with Tolkien's style. I suspect anyone who reads this has already delved beyond TH and LOTR, but nonetheless the references and lore knowledge were excellent for those of us who are armchair Tolkien legendariumists.
