What an understatment! I imagine both brothers wondered at what Denethor's intervention meant. When they compared notes (as they inevitably would) I wonder what the conversation sounded like.

I enjoyed this vignette enormously. With very little dialogue, the characters are clearly sketched and their actions clear. Good job.
