| | Journal Main Read Journal Entry Blog_display Hethlin of Anorien By:Isabeau February, 25 2006 I know CMC's a done deal, but since I intend to give it a thorough editing in the future, I'll include it in this thread, as well as make this a place for any other Heth questions not appropriate for the Silver Swan thread. Comment: Denise asked: Hi, Isabeau. Something I've wondered about from CMC for a while, but can't decide for myself what might be going on... In SS Ch.1, Imrahil tells Hethlin that the King was right to deny her the Ranger captaincy, and that he thought Faramir only tried to push it through because Faramir felt guilty that he loved Eowyn and didn't return Heth's feelings. But in CMC, Faramir doesn't "officially" find out that Heth's in love with him until after she's been denied the captaincy and sworn to Imrahil. Is the order of events (when Faramir finds out) something that you intend to change in the CMC edit? Or is Imrahil mistaken? Or was Faramir aware of Heth's feelings on some level before Elrohir popped off about it, and although he refused to acknowledge it consciously, he really was trying to appease Heth in some way? I will probably have to edit it, since there is an obvious conflict, though I do think it's possible that Faramir was aware on some level of Heth's feelings, given that he's supposed to be a perceptive fellow. Also, does Heth ever learn that she could have been a lieutenant with the Rangers, if Faramir had listened to his brother? I hope not, for Faramir's sake...
