Hethlin of Anorien
February, 25 2006
I know CMC's a done deal, but since I intend to give it a thorough editing in the future, I'll include it in this thread, as well as make this a place for any other Heth questions not appropriate for the Silver Swan thread.
Nargil asked: In Blackbow when Esteven is saying the Swan knights in Minas Tirith are at Faramir / Boromir's command, how many are there?
I don't think it's a big detachment, and there are probably not even always Swan Knights there. I suspect Esteven had about 25 men there. Now when the Prince is present, the numbers go up, probably to a full company of 100.
Also how long did Faramir spend in Dol-Amroth as an esquire, you mention cavalry training several times?
I don't know exactly, but he was never an actual esquire. It's more a case of him receiving cavalry training on the occasions he or Boromir were there. They would basically show up, and Andra and whoever was Horsemaster at the time (I think Peloren became Horsemaster a little later)would find out where they were in their martial education and take it up from there, until they left again.
