| | Journal Main Read Journal Entry Blog_display Hethlin of Anorien By:Isabeau February, 25 2006 I know CMC's a done deal, but since I intend to give it a thorough editing in the future, I'll include it in this thread, as well as make this a place for any other Heth questions not appropriate for the Silver Swan thread. Comment: Hi, Nargil, You know, when I read that section, I've always figured that Imrahil was also talking about himself as being part (the head) of a large family. Thus he and the others were wise enough to hold back announcing Brand's gift of lands until Faramir's son was born - and Brand, being part of a large family himself, was able to immediately see through that and know the timing was a pacification measure. *g* So the "single child(ren)" Imrahil mentions isn't himself, but a hypothetical comparison. Does that make sense? (Though I suppose I could see Imrahil being the one to suggest it to Faramir and Aragorn, the latter two being either single or youngest, and thus not witnesses to a common measure used by harried parents everywhere? So maybe "single children" could be an indirect reference to Seward and King, if they had to be convinced of the timing.) Now to try to block out time to read 27 Fell and Fair drabbles! Yay! (Though I do insist on author's notes, ET, you know I do love them!) Because we have been getting a lot of spam, we now have a security number which you have to enter in order to post a journal reply. In the field marked validation number, enter five eight eight five as a four place number. |
