Comment: My point is just that he's had no positive indication from Hethlin that things will ever resolve as he wants them to. You're right, I don't think he has either, unless you count the latest chapter of Passages - but we have only the briefest of scenes to go by and it's not from either Heth or Imrahil's PoV... Faramir's vision is in CMC Ch. 18, near the very end, after Heth boots both Elrohir and Imrahil out of her room. (*g* I still love that.) The white birds are separate from the (Star of the) North, although it does seem like the upcoming war is quite likely mentioned.
