| | Journal Main Read Journal Entry Blog_display Isabeau's Journal By:Isabeau November, 12 2005 OK, folks-this is the general forum now for questions that don't seem to fit in any of the other threads. I'm going to sort some of the earlier posts into the appropriate forums, but it might take a while, so bear with me. I'll delete the ones that have already been reposted by their authors. Comment: I've been keeping up with the discussion about the Mile-Long Thread over in Mike's journal, and Rebecca has some good ideas about how to avoid another monster from growing. Here's some of my thoughts, for what they are worth. 1.) I don't think Isabeau should spend time sorting out this giant thread, unless there is some way one of us could help her. I think she should just declare it "closed to future posts" or something like that, with maybe a brief list of major topics covered in the journal entry, and then start over (if she wants to!) with new threads. Better to spend time writing!!! 2.) I don't think any of way of dividing threads would be completely clean - by time period, by topic (culture, religion, SK training, etc.), by character, or by story. Looking back through this journal entry, there's overlap between all of them, and this is particularly true when talking about different characters - mostly because much of our interest is in the interactions between them. Because of the overlap, my tendency is to recommend division by story or story-arc for specific questions. Maybe a "general" thread for catch-all type questions (Q about how Isabeau comes up with ideas, etc.), and perhaps a whole separate "forum" thread for our discussions (Imri & Elrohir, Tolkien's treatment of Arwen)? Not that things won't get mixed, but it would help, anyway... What are you most used to from HASA, Isabeau? Because we have been getting a lot of spam, we now have a security number which you have to enter in order to post a journal reply. In the field marked validation number, enter eight five four one as a four place number. |
