|All the tales of the Valar and the Elves are so knit together that one may scarce expound any one without needing to set forth the whole of their great history.|

OK, folks-this is the general forum now for questions that don't seem to fit in any of the other threads. I'm going to sort some of the earlier posts into the appropriate forums, but it might take a while, so bear with me. I'll delete the ones that have already been reposted by their authors.
I can't begin to reasonably advise you about revealing Hethlin's fate, especially since I am now the not-so-proud owner of an unfinished WIP (although not one that has a devoted audience clamoring to know what will happen! :) ). It sounds like you know what will happen with Hethlin, so the only thing that has yet to happen is the writing of it -- the basic outline has already been decided? Based only on my own intuition, I second Denise's prediction that revealing Hethlin's fate to your readers would only spur you to return to that writing project. Keeping it under wraps for the last several years doesn't seem to have helped towards finishing the story, so maybe it's time for a new approach?
Haha, maybe those of us who are super eager to know should have to a) sign a confidentiality agreement, and b) promise to make no complaints or long, rambling opinions (ahem, mea culpa!), or to pester you with questions after finally getting the answer we've been waiting (for sooooo looonggg) for!! How bout that? Huh? :)
Because we have been getting a lot of spam, we now have a security number which you have to enter in order to post a journal reply. In the field marked validation number, enter six three six nine as a four place number.
