"The Alphabet of Middle-earth" - Writing Cues for the 'Back to Middle-earth Month 2007'

 March, 1 2007

It's "Back to Middle-earth Month" again!

Just like last year, the month of March is dedicated to Middle-earth. No matter if you have not been there in ages or if you have never left, ...

... no matter if it is "The Silmarillion" that inspires you or "The Hobbit", this is *your* month. Your month to get excited about Middle-earth again, a month to watch the movies, to read books, essays, fanfic, paint fanart, create icons, make fanvids ... it doesn't matter what you do, as long as it's about Tolkien's Middle-earth.

And of course "There and Back Again" has prepared something to celebrate B2MeM again, as well. We proudly present a new series of writing cues for B2MeM:

The Alphabet of Middle-earth

"The Alphabet of Middle-earth" is a series of short cues to inspire you. We have included some very special "characters" so that there are exactly 31 cues to titillate your muses. One for each day of B2MeM. We invite you to pick up any cue, any time and to post your take as a comment for the relevant entry in the LiveJournal Community "There and Back Again" or over at the "Henneth Annun Yahoo Group".*

Write a drabble, a drouble, a tribble, a quabble or a quibble! Write 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 words! No matter if it's serious or silly, anything goes.

• Anonymous posters are very welcome to post their takes as well, but please remember to include your pen-name so we know who you are!

• If you write something that is not suitable for the general audience (rating R/NC-17) please post only a link to the ficlet and provide suitable warnings.

And here's already the first cue for the first day of the "Back to Middle-earth Month 2007":

A - like an antagonistic Arwen.

Have fun, have muses, have drabbles!

 [5] Hello Nargil,

If you want you can post your take here. But most people post their takes over at the writers' workshop "There and Back Again" ( or at the Henneth Annūn Yahoo Group (

And no, you don't need an author's account or LiveJournal for posting in reply to one of the cues. "Anonymous" comments (comments from people with no lj accounts) are enabled. Just make sure you include your pen-name in your post. :-)
