|All the tales of the Valar and the Elves are so knit together that one may scarce expound any one without needing to set forth the whole of their great history.|

This is where you can ask all questions about the imaginary Gondorian town of Halabor and the stories related to it, i.e: "Shadows of the Past", "The Shoemaker's Daughter" and "The Last Yule in Halabor", so far.

 Hi, Soledad,
Thanks for pointing that out, and I completely agree with you. My husband teaches 12-13 year-olds, too, but I think I might be exposed to more "Can you believe they did this???" venting, which no doubt makes me think of them as more immature than they actually are, on average. *g*
It only took me aback a bit, and only for a little while. After thinking about it, that point of the story seemed perfectly reasonable - especially when I considered Faramir's way above-average maturity and his special relationship with Boromir that you've so clearly fleshed out.
BTW, I liked how Faramir had already heard snippets about the palantiri from his teacher, but knew that Denethor would most definitely not approve. Savvy little guy!

 Re: Madenn's identity
I got it! I got it! Well, OK, I think I do, thanks to your "kinswoman" hint, among other things.
Very cool link to canon! I love how fanfic authors can pick out these minute details that I have skipped over for years, and imbue them with such depth.

Thank you. I enjoy these sly little tie-ins with canon - it's like doing detective work. :)

Your settings are wonderful. Your OCs are charming and authentic.

Thank you. This is possible the best compliment you could have given me. OCs are such a... tricky thing, getting them well is not easy.

Madenn and the Lady Aud will meet again, some time in the future. I'm planning to write a few little snippets that could not be included in any story under a common title later.
As for Achren and Húrin, I think they would be very happy together. I have no laid-out plans for them, but they seem a couple to me who can grow to love each other very much.
It seems that I might finish this story in the near future, after all. Who would have thought?

Great and satisfying finish to "The Young Knights" - I wish everyone had the happy ending that Hurin and Achren had, but we know that Real Life (and canon) works otherwise...
More Inevitable Curiosity: Will we get more on Prince Theodred and Lady Aud's story one day? And is Herumor's "feeling of unease" concerning Dahud explained in one of the other Halabor stories?
Thanks for sharing this lovely Advent gift.

Sorry, I'm late - again. I'm glad that you liked the ending of "The Young Knights". Yep, not everybody can always have a happy ending, but that's life.
As for Théodred and Aud, I don't have anything planned out for them yet. You can see their end in "Ice Blossom", even though that story will need a serious reworking some day.
No idea about Dahud's true face so far. But we never know, right?
Oh, and before I forget: if you want to see some of the really old stuff, I've finally fixed the link to my old homepage. Took me only two years or so.

I apoogize for the long delay in updating "The Shoemaker's Daughter". The truth is, I've completely forgotten about Chapter 5, which was waiting on my HD for Ages - so now you have two chapters at once. :)

For those interested in Halabor trivia: I've added a few more character lists to the Otherworlds board's Halabor forum. You can see them here:
