|All the tales of the Valar and the Elves are so knit together that one may scarce expound any one without needing to set forth the whole of their great history.|

Princes of Dol Amroth
February, 25 2006
Questions about the life and times of Imrahil and his family can be asked here, including questions about Ultimatums, Kin-Strife and the shorter stories. Discussions about Brand can go either here or in the Best-Loved Son thread, since his stories sort of overlap both cycles.

Sorry, Nargil, I forgot to answer your question. Yes, I have read a fair bit of Tamora Pierce and I like her very much.

Yes, it would be nice if they could be around for 20+ years (or more?), particularly a charismatic and loyal hound like Luin. And I can see them being even bigger than the pictures I saw, as super-purebreds started by Elendil's line.
I figure they should be good for about 20 years, given that the Numenoreans live longer. You make a good point about the size as well-given that the Numenoreans are all bean-poles. I think I will make them a little bigger.
Do you see them as having some Elven influence, since they are connected to the Faithful? Or are the breed's exceptional qualities due to a Numenorean magic touch?
Haven't decided which, to be honest. I'll have to mull that one a bit.

Gracious, Dwim! I wasn't trying to nuzgul you!
Right now it looks like the next chapter is same day, but in the afternoon. Imrahil takes Brand and Tathar riding, and they run into the Queen and some of her friends, including Eowyn. Eowyn is going to invite them over to dinner that night. So there will be a big family scene with Imrahil and Brand and possibly 'Rothos going over to see Faramir and Eowyn. Then I'll go on to the tournament, which is mostly written already. After that, things get a little iffy between the tournament and the end of the story. What do you need?

Not that my ankles can tell that!
What do you need?
What I always seem to need. *sigh* Some idea of what Andrahar will be up to and whether the dog is attached at the hip to Brand or what.

Well, I must say that this sounds very, very promising to me! To have both of you writing this storyline can only be a good thing. :)

I figure that Luin will be left in Brand's room that evening when they go to dinner. Otherwise, yes, he's pretty much attached at the hip to his master. As for Andra, he gave the esquires and knights the day off (they'll start in hot and heavy the next day again, getting ready for the tournament), but he might get up to sparring with a few people like Liahan and Hethlin. Otherwise, his time is his own. Does this help?

Enough to make the idea kernel seem plausible, in terms of timing. I'll have to wait and see what comes up later tonight perhaps, assuming I can get done what I need to get done (a task not made easier by the undead bunny on my ankle, mind you).

*quiet but fervent agreement and cheering!*

Looking forward to it, Dwim! (Blows a kiss in the direction of Dwim's ankles.)
