|All the tales of the Valar and the Elves are so knit together that one may scarce expound any one without needing to set forth the whole of their great history.|

Questions about the life and times of Imrahil and his family can be asked here, including questions about Ultimatums, Kin-Strife and the shorter stories. Discussions about Brand can go either here or in the Best-Loved Son thread, since his stories sort of overlap both cycles.

Hmm, I'm still busily writing reviews for the Mefas. So I wouldn't mind a while longer. But on the other hand it would be something to look forward to...
In the end I think it is up to you Isabeau. You do what you think will be best...

 Hi Isabeau,
Since you're understandably reluctant to release another WIP, why not hold off until you're really ready? I know that's weird coming from someone who's always hoping for New Installations from Isabeau! But if you're already certain how the story will finish, the inevitable speculation that we fans would engage in upon release of a few chapters would be quite pointless (besides its entertainment value, of course -- and that might be pushing it!). But whatever you think is the way to go will be fine!

Post the first chapter now and the rest at christmas, that way you'll have lots of reviews and like Rebecca said, we can all speculate over what will happen.
But either ways good, not very long till chrismas, at least that is what Rochnariel said.

Imhiriel: I had hoped to finish/post the third chapter of my WiP this year, but it doesn't look as if I'll manage to do it.
What??? OK, I'm thinking Faramir and I need to have a little talk here...
Not wanting to appropriate Isabeau's forum for my writing, but... let's just say it's not Faramir's fault. I'll write to you in private, Denise.

Oops! I'm sorry about that, Imhiriel and Isabeau - I rather unthinkingly appended that comment at the end of my last post. I didn't intend to start a discussion on something inappropriate for the forum! I apologize.
Back on-topic: I admit that the idea of periodically posting chapters that have already been done is very alluring. That is, if the ending is pretty much fixed and doing so would indeed keep you from feeling stalled out on the story, while we review/discuss/anticipate each chapter. Is it a lot more work for you to do it that way as opposed to all at once? And we would need to keep in mind that you'd probably have to ignore the usual crop of comments/questions that seem to spring up in favor of NaNoWriMo.

Ok, what on earth is a NaNoWriMo, I googled it and didn't find anything remotley likley.
sorry if this is off topic bu it's bugging me.
I like chapters any way I can get them, but I'll wait if that's what you want Isabeau.

I believe it stands for National Novel Writing Month, Nargil. Participants attempt to write a minimum 50,000 story by the end of November. Wikipedia has an entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanowrimo

Thanks, Nargil, but it's not really a contest like that. It's more of a challenge to actually start writing that novel that most of us say we're always going to write. You try to get your 50,000 words, which is a pretty good start. I'm at 0 at present, so I need to get moving.
Thanks to all of you for being understanding about the Brand story. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet, but I might go ahead and post it a bit at a time. I'm thinking it needs a prologue and I have a bit that might work. You'll know if I decide in favor of that approach...

Well, NaNoWriMo is over, and I didn't make 50,000 words (Una did! Congratulations!). Only 41,600, and about 9000 of that was Chapters 5 and 6 of Passages. (Hey, I wrote that part of it last month, didn't I?) But it wasn't a wasted effort-actually working with my characters gave me some insights and ideas.
Thanks to everyone who reviewed me on the MEFAs! Needless to say, I was very pleased with the way things turned out!
And I'm not exactly certain, but I think that Andrahar may very well now be the winningest OC in the history of the fandom! A story featuring him written by Soledad (Face of the Enemy) won a first in the Mithrils last year, Trust by Dwimordene won a first in the MEFAs this year, my Last Rites won a second in the same category, Altariel's The Lost, in which he also played a part, took a third. Off-handedly, I can't think of another OC who has been featured in stories by four different authors that have all won awards. Go, Andra!
Hope you all are enjoying Passages so far. Brand has certainly been insistent! I'll be posting Chapter 6 on Sunday, and I think I'll have 7 the following week. Hopefully, it will finish up around Christmas time.
