Isabeau's Journal

By:Isabeau
 November, 12 2005

OK, folks-this is the general forum now for questions that don't seem to fit in any of the other threads. I'm going to sort some of the earlier posts into the appropriate forums, but it might take a while, so bear with me. I'll delete the ones that have already been reposted by their authors.

[311] The Chicago Summit 2007 has just taken place, my readers. Dwimordene, Altariel and myself met in Chicago this weekend. Altariel and I had met before, but neither of us had met Dwim. We had such a good time! Dwim was a great native guide, though we didn't do any sightseeing, except for seeing Lake Michigan. We spent the weekend discussing fanfiction, nagging authors of WIPs and flinging Nuzguls left and right. Some of them actually stuck, so you should see some tangible results from this historic occasion over the next few months.

Thanks to Altariel for flying into Louisville so I wouldn't have to drive up alone, and for finding us such a great place to stay, and to Dwim for emptying her busy schedule so she could patiently squire us about!

[312] Wow, thank you for the update, Isabeau - especially about the sticky Nuzguls! *rubs hands together excitedly*

Well, OK, I'm also glad there was, um, gentle promting about hanging WiPs. But mostly it's just wonderful that you three were able to get together for such an enjoyable weekend. :)

*Denise wanders off humming, "Nuzguls, Nuzguls, lovely sticky Nuzguls."*

[313] I'm so glad you guys all had fun together, I saw chicago last year, such a pretty city.

I hope the meeting turns out to be fruitfull and that the sticky Nuzgull stay co-operative and work nicley with the muses and each other.

Just out of intrest Denise, to what tune is the Nuzgull song, I get the feeling I heard somthing similar before?

Lol! Hmmm, not sure how to format musical notation here, but I pick it out on the piano as:

C - A, C - A, C - C - A - D - C - A

I borrowed it from my friend's very cheerful 9-yr-old son, who's been singing, "Teacher, teacher, (I) wanna be a teacher," since he was 3. (As he's a lot like his father, who's an excellent and popular teacher, it may actually happen.) HTH!

[315] It was a fantastic weekend, and those Nuzguls have turned out to be damnably sticky! I was impervious for most of the weekend, and then on Saturday night all resistance crumbled.

I love the Nuzgul song! I have been humming it to another tune too, to: "fishheads, fishheads, roly-poly fishheads"...

*sporfle!* OK, I Googled this, and I am never going to be the same again...

Denise (who is bit concerned about what her dreams are going to look like tonight)

P.S. Saw the first result from Chicago Summit 2007, and it is wonderful! More coherent review forthcoming, after I get this new song out of my head.

It just wouldn't have been fair if you'd been totally immune while poor Isabeau and I staggered back to the nuzgul blood-bank. It would've been cosmic injustice.

So really, you're giving us all hope that there is universal justice out there somewhere. You should be very honored. ;-)

I'm also impressed that the last one nuzguled was the first to post - that thing was rabid, clearly!

[318] You guys are welcome anytime! It was a truly relaxing (and labor-free) Labor Day weekend.

*sigh* Back to the grind, and with nuzgul hanging off my ankles...

*snort!* Oh well, it's not a bad purpose in life.

Pretty damn rabid - I woke up on Sunday morning with it pretty much written in my head, and then there was a handy plane flight to scribble it all down. I think you have to move fast with these nuzguls sometimes: those teeth really start to hurt if you leave them attached to your ankle too long...
